Leisure vehicle manufacturer, Erwin Hymer Group, has unveiled its all-new, purpose-built Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Centre at its Consett manufacturing facility in County Durham.

The new PDI Centre was designed and built as part of the overall improvements and ongoing investment in the expanding plant.

All vehicles built at Erwin Hymer Group in Consett will be processed through this state-of-the-art centre for final inspection and quality control prior to dealership delivery.

The new Erwin Hymer Group investment houses not only the PDI Centre, but also a new Factory Service Centre, plus testing facilities, including water testing.

John Lally, director general of the National Caravan Council, and Jan de Haas, CSO of Erwin Hymer Group, travelled to Consett to officially open the Group’s new UK PDI Centre, and were joined by key members of the Caravan and Motorhome Industry Press, the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping and Caravanning Club.

Chris Short, managing director at Erwin Hymer Group UK, said: “Investment in both our people and processes are critical to our success moving forward, this latest investment in the PDI Centre shows the support we have from Erwin Hymer Group in our strategy to enhance our product quality and ultimately increase capacity.

“Having a facility which meets the needs of the business in every way from lighting, through to state of the art testing, allows EHG UK to develop quality processes from the New Product Introduction phase through to final delivery to our Customers.”
