A recently launched campsite booking app, CL Booking, has been shortlisted for the British Farming Awards.
Established by a group of farmers and landowners who own campsites licensed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, CL Booking provides up-to-date campsite availability for each campsite.
Following its launch in July 2021, it now has more than 17,000 users and has already delivered more than £525K of enquiries to the rural economy.
Nicola Wetherill of Skybarn Farm in Lincolnshire said: “The small five-pitch caravan site we have on our farm is a vital part of our farm diversification.
“Ensuring we get good occupancy and helping campers find a site that suits them was the driving force behind the development of this app.
“We’re delighted that our group has been recognised by being shortlisted for this award.”
The mobile app and website allows campervan, motorhome and caravan owners to check availability and make a pitch enquiry or book directly.
To book a CL site you need to be a Caravan and Motorhome Club member with a valid membership number.
Ted Howard-Jones, a Buckinghamshire- based farmer said: “So far we have 230 plus sites, most based on farms, across the UK listing their availability in real-time.
“We’re solving a problem for campers looking for a pitch for their caravan or motorhome and for farmers operating or running these sites who are looking to increase their occupancy or fill a cancellation”.
