Campers reminded of NC500 visitor centre waste disposal facilities

An NC500 landmark visitor centre has highlighted their motorhome waste disposal facilities on offer as the tourist season begins.

The Corrieshalloch Gorge Visitor Centre, run by National Trust for Scotland (NTS), opened last year as a part of a £3.1 million project which provided much-needed infrastructure and facilities.

This included toilets, electric vehicle charging points and motorhome waste disposal.

As tourist season kicks into full-swing, the visitor centre has highlighted these facilities they have on offer in a bid to “keep the Highlands beautiful”.

Corrieshalloch Gorge visitor centre said: “Having a dedicated motorhome service point provides visitors in campervans with some much needed roadside facilities.

“Importantly, this means folk can now dispose of their waste responsibly, and helps us to ensure that waste doesn’t end up being dumped in the reserve or anywhere else in our area.

“Assisting as best we can in caring for nature and the local environment.

“There’s a £7 contactless payment required to activate the waste disposal.

“This helps us pay for any maintenance needed and to have the tanks cleaned and emptied regularly throughout the season.”
