Van lifer calls for assistance after camper gets stuck in Scottish ditch

A full-time van lifer made a call out for assistance today (Friday 19 January) after his campervan came off a Scottish road.

He spent the night in his campervan, stuck in ditch after It left the A9 Causewaymire road in yesterday’s blizzards.

Trampus Egerton posted a message on a Facebook group called Caithness Road Watch to ask for assistance around 10am today.

His post reads: “Does anyone know of a breakdown company that can come out to me asap?

“I’m in a lwb Iveco at the Cathie Mara [sic] wind farm.

“Been trying to get a breakdown wagon to tow or winch me out all day but the two company’s I phoned have been attending gritter trucks and HGVs.

“I am about a foot from the side of the road on a 30 degree angle almost in a deeper ditch.

“The van is my home so I won’t leave it, its dangerous for me to stay in it tonight if someone else slips into me.

“If anyone has a large tractor or a plus 7.5 ton recovery wagon or knows someone that can help tonight or in the morning it would be massively appreciated.”
