Pub at Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club site reopens

The Whistling Pig Pub at Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club site has reopened.

The newly refurbished Windemere campsite pub is now operated by the Northern Monkey Brew Company and offers award-winning craft beers brewed in the company’s Bolton Brewery.

The dog-friendly pub will host quizzes and live music, and will also offer stone-oven pizzas, loaded fries and Sunday roasts after the kitchen refurbishment.

Ryan Bailey, who runs Northern Monkey Brew Company said: “The club could see that we take great pride in what we do and we are delighted to take on the running of the Whistling Pig.

“We want people to enjoy the atmosphere and support our passion for serving real beer the way it should be.

“I was aware of the pub having previously stayed in Windermere myself.

“It’s in a prime location and when I saw it was empty I reached out to the club to see how we could work together.

“This is a perfect partnership as we can help the Camping and Caravaning Club improve facilities for campers holidaying locally whilst being able to continue to share our history and roots in the area hit.”

Nicola Simpson, director of marketing and insight at the Camping and Caravaning Club asaid: “Ryan and Kevin strive to provide exceptional customer service and we are delighted to be working with them at Whistling Pig.

“Windermere is quite unique in our network as it has its own pub on site. It has always been a huge draw for campers and Ryan and Kevin bring a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to the running of the pub.

“I’m sure our campers will love the new decor and enjoy a nice drink or two when staying with us on site.”
