Caravan and Motorhome Club launches UK escorted tours for 2023

From a spectacular show of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, tours of the UK’s finest historic buildings to visiting places of Viking heritage and seeing steam trains, there is more choice to be had with a Caravan and Motorhome UK escorted tour, available now to book in time for summer.

Tourers will be able to explore the UK like never before with three new UK escorted tours that have been carefully created by the Club’s trusted travel team and are on sale now, exclusively for members from £849 for an outfit and two people.

Each itinerary makes the most of in-depth local knowledge across the Home Counties, York, County Durham and Edinburgh and gives tourers plenty of time to explore the great outdoors in between sightseeing.

The tour price includes your pitch at campsites, Blue Badge Guided tours, entrance and transport to and from excursions, all giving you more for your money on a relaxing hassle-free tour.

All escorted tours are also ABTA protected for financial peace of mind.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo Escorted Tour

For three nights, why not experience all the historic city of Edinburgh has to offer.

This tour begins at Edinburgh Club Campsite situated on the Firth of Forth that provides easy access to the city.

Once settled in, tourers will be treated to a walking tour of Edinburgh, with an expert Blue Badge Guide where they can take in the Royal Mile and vibrant Grassmarket area.

To end the tour on a high, guests will be treated to a pre-show dinner and the truly spectacular Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, where they can take in the sights and sounds of the military pageantry, dancers and musicians.

The tour departs on 8 August, with prices starting from £849 for an outfit plus two people.

Royal Palaces and Historical Buildings 

This nine-night UK tour begins at Abbey Wood Club Campsite in London, while situated in the capital this campsite is positively rural with mature tree screening and spacious grounds.

Tourers can walk to the new Elizabeth line for fast transport into central London to explore the city at their own pace. While excursions take in the country’s finest historic buildings including The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, an afternoon at Kensington Palace and a tour of the Tower of London.

Next up, tourers will move on to Henley-on-Thames to stay by the river at the Henley Four Oaks Club Campsite in the heart of Oxfordshire.

A tour of Oxford’s prestigious colleges is also included along with Blenheim Palace, with its wonderful park and gardens.

An excursion to Windsor Castle is also on the itinerary with a river cruise along the River Thames. The tour departs on 1 June and prices start from £1,449 for an outfit plus two people.

Yorkshire and Kynren

For a trip combining history, architecture and majestic scenery, tourers can travel across Yorkshire and County Durham for an eight-night escorted tour. Starting from York Beechwood Grange Club Campsite set in open countryside, tourers will enjoy a visit to the North York Moors Railway and Castle Howard, a stately home set in lush gardens.

Other excursions include a guided tour of the city and York Minster Cathedral, followed by a trip to the Jorvik Centre, showing the city’s Viking heritage and a visit to the picturesque valley of Wensleydale, famous for its cheese.

Tourers will then drive to the Teesdale Barnard Castle Campsite, in County Durham that is set in a designated Area of High Landscape Value, enabling guests to enjoy a day at leisure in the great outdoors.

An evening of entertainment will then be enjoyed at the Kynren show, an awe-inspiring outdoor performance, deemed an ‘epic tale of England’ where myth and legend come to life from Boudicca’s battles with the Romans via Vikings, Tudors and more.

The tour departs on 12 August and 2 September.

Prices start from £1,349 for an outfit plus two people.
