Nicola Sturgeon motorhome gag features in BBC Hogmanay sketch

Nicola Sturgeon was the butt of a joke on primetime BBC Scotland TV on Hogmanay as her party’s love of motorhomes was highlighted in hilarious style.

With Operation Branchform in full swing, she was arrested by cops and grilled for hours about an allegedly missing £660k of ring-fenced funds which the SNP fundraised for.

Her husband Peter Murrell, former party chief executive, was also taken into custody as was ex-treasurer Colin Beattie.

Her marital home was raided by Police Scotland who could be seen taking away items for further investigation.

And a £110K motorhome was removed from the drive of Mr Murrell’s elderly mother in Dunfermline, with the SNP later claiming it was bought for campaigning in 2021 but never used.

BBC Scotland sketch show Queen of the New Year poked fun at this scandal as they included a short clip which included a Ms Sturgeon lookalike.

It revolved around an annoyed couple in a motorhome whose neighbours were making a lot of noise, including the famous Bits and Pieces song.

They describe the noise as “ridiculous” because loud music has been playing since “3 o’clock” so they knock on the door to request that they turn the music down.

“Ms Sturgeon” answers, decked out in a Scotland national football team top and holding a dram of whisky.

She rudely asks “what” and refuses to turn her stereo down, claiming she can’t hear the complaint due to it.

She adds: “Away and gee us peace. Fks sake get the poker oot your ae we are all here to have a good time. I’m aff my work, leave me alone.”

The “former first minister” then shuts the door in the couple’s face, but then opens it again to plead “hey pal, don’t tell anybody you saw this caravan.”
