New waste disposal facilities open at ‘ugly hollow’ Highland gorge

A new £3.1m visitor centre has opened at Corrieshalloch Gorge in the Highlands.

National Trust for Scotland’s new centre includes electric vehicle charging, waste disposal facilities for campervans and motorhomes, improved parking and an expanded path network.

The gorge, south of Ullapool, was created by meltwater from glaciers at the end of the last ice age and has a 45m (148ft) waterfall.

The mile-long canyon takes its name from Gaelic for “ugly hollow”.

  • Yes, some good news there for mitorhome owners. looking for Elsan locations whilst on the road touring.

The £2000 fine story is an Eye Opener, as you only find out when the FPN drops through your letterbox.

I am a member of CAMpRA and saw another member had posted to group FB page, on the new Highland Gorge facilities. Reading the story it states therecwill be a Blue loo for motorhomes.

I also commented to the group about the London fines ( and they were not even in the London Ultra Liw Emission Zone).
I then added to our groups website forum, links to the various towns across England & Scotland that have Clean Aur Zones.

Knowledge when planning trips. should therefore help my fellow 32+m members from receiving these fines.
