Motorhome and Caravan Show 2022 announces TV star speaker line-up for its return next week

Motorhome and Caravan Show

The Motorhome and Caravan Show returns to the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham from 18th – 23rd October 2022, following a successful sell-out event in February and the largest showcase of Leisure Vehicles in the country.

As well as getting a first-look at new-for-2023 campervans, caravans, motorhomes and a huge range of tech, gadgets and accessories to take on-the-road-holidays to the next level, visitors can look forward to hearing inspiring stories from leading experts in the world of outdoor adventures.

Featuring talks from some of the UK’s biggest nature-loving personalities, the event’s Inspiration Theatre will see celebrities share their experiences of the great outdoors and provide top-tips on where to go and how to make the most of adventures.

From towing a caravan with an electric car to travelling with pets, as well as a beautifully illustrated tour of the nation’s greatest walks, the Inspiration Theatre has it all.

Introducing guest speakers to the stage and sharing insights into his own experiences of caravanning will be none other than comedic actor and television personality, Rowland Rivron.

Rowland will introduce sessions throughout the event with Simon Reeve, Toyah Willcox, Josie Gibson, Jeff Brazier, Ella Williamson, Nick Hallisey, Marcus Leach, Martin Dorey, Andrew Ditton, Siobhan Daniels, Lola Cuslan, Kat Bird and many more.

Author, journalist and adventurer Simon Reeve is notably recognised for exploring and travelling around the world and meeting incredible people.

He will be officially opening the Show on Tuesday 18th October.

Through filming his popular TV travel series, Simon has travelled to 120 countries, gathering a wealth of experience and knowledge along the way.

Guests to the Show can hear him share some of his memorable moments from filming in the UK, Europe and more recently, South America.

ITV This Morning’s Josie Gibson has enjoyed campervan and motorhome holidays for several years; experience that has come in handy while presenting the Camping With Josie segments on This Morning.

Visitors to the Motorhome and Caravan Show on Wednesday 19th October will see the presenter share some of her top camping tips, places to visit and campsites to pitch-up at alongside some amusing campervanning anecdotes.

Singer, actress, presenter and author Toyah Willcox will be giving a glimpse of her life before pop stardom and how a love of the outdoors as a child helped shape her into the fearless artistic creator she is today.

On Thursday 20th October, visitors will be treated to tales of the freedom granted to Toyah in her early childhood, swimming in lakes and rivers and caravanning and boating in the 1960s with her family.

Toyah will also share stories of her adventures on the canals in Wales, her teenage years caravanning and hiding in a caravan on her honeymoon to escape the paparazzi!

TV presenter Jeff Brazier will be joining the lineup on Sunday 23rd October having just bought his first campervan.

Attendees will see Jeff in conversation with Rowland Rivron as he talks about why he decided to buy a campervan, what he’s learned so far as a first-time buyer, the adventures he’s been on and where he plans to explore in the future with his two boys.

From the idyllic coastlines of Croatia and the rugged beauty of Montenegro to the rich and fascinating landscape of Bosnia, writer, speaker and athlete Marcus Leach will take guests on a journey through the Balkans on Wednesday 19th October.

On Thursday and Friday of the Show, writer, campervanner and environmental activist, Martin Dorey, will be talking about taking the slow road, covering the fun he’s had writing his latest book: a guide for campervanners and motorhomers to find the best road trips in Spain and Portugal.

On Friday and Saturday, TV’s Gadget Girl, Ella Williamson, will be talking all things tech; giving her expert insight on the newest and coolest gadgets, all available at the Show – from travel cinemas, argument-saving cameras, travel apps and everything in between.

Leisure vehicle journalist and EV Caravanner, Andrew Ditton, will be sharing the ups and downs of EV touring with his insightful talk – ‘Electric Touring – Is it for me?’ covering topics like ‘Can you tow a caravan with an electric car? How far can it go?’, ‘How do you charge the battery?’ and ‘Can I buy an electric caravan?’ on Wednesday 19th.

The same day, Deputy Editor of Country Walking, Nick Hallissey, will take to the stage for a charmingly illustrated tour of the nation’s greatest walks.

From Aviemore to Zennor via the Peak District, the Highlands, the Lakes, Snowdonia, the South Downs and all points in between, Nick will provide masses of inspiration for your next adventure.

Each day of the Show, travel blogger Kat Bird will take visitors on a journey through her favourite places – including the breathtaking Norwegian Fjords and Southern Norway.

Including her trip itinerary, routes driven, favourite places to stay and top tips for exploring the country; Norway is sure to be on the bucket list of attendees after the Show.

Kat will also be advising visitors with dogs on the documentation and requirements necessary to ensure safe travel to the content.

With her brand new book, Retirement Rebel, coming out in October 2022, Siobhan Williams is leading the retirement rebellion and will be sharing details of her motorhome journey around the UK on Tuesday 18th.

Challenging ageism and changing the narrative around ageing for all, Siobhan’s talk is bound to be popular.

Closing the Show, campervan adventurer, wild swimmer and travel writer Lola Culsan will share tales of her adventures whilst touring Spain’s Hidden Coast on both Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October.

For guests new to the world of motorhome, caravan and campervan holidays, free expert advice will be available from the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping and Caravanning Club who are running free caravan towing courses, motorhome manoeuvring sessions and campervan test drives (over 25s with a driver’s licence) throughout the week.
