Two wins for Hymer at iF Design Awards

Hymer

The Hymer Grand Canyon S and Eriba Touring Colour Editions impressed judges at the iF Awards in Berlin this week.

Thought to be one of the most important design awards, the evaluation process lasts several days with 132 independent, leading design experts assessing more than 10,800 entries in a wide range of disciplines.

The design of the vehicles was assessed on the basis of the five criteria of idea, form, function, differentiation and impact.

Both models did particularly well on account of their innovative design and aesthetics.

The Eriba Touring Colour Editions also benefited from the assessment that their design made them truly stand out from the competition.

The Hymer Grand Canyon S was praised by the jury for its independent, self-sufficient travel concept in particular.

Christian Bauer, President of Hymer GmbH & Co. KG, says: “Innovation, function and quality have always been our top priorities.

“Our well thought-out and future-oriented product design fully reflects these central aspirations of Hymer and Eriba.

“The fact that we won not one, but two iF Design Awards this year underscores our expertise and our success as a leading supplier in the premium motorhoming segment.”

The Eriba Touring Colour Editions have given the design of the Eriba Touring cult caravan a complete makeover.

The traditional model with its highly characteristic, aerodynamic body shape, which has been in production for over 60 years, is available in a choice of three different vibrant colours: the “Nugget Gold”, “Tango Red” and “Harbour Blue” special models combine the authentic retro look of the caravan with a modern twist – true to the Eriba slogan “Anything but ordinary”.

Thanks to its digital control system, the latest edition of the Grand Canyon S camper van model is not only a true “smart home” on wheels, but is also setting new standards in independent and sustainable travel on account of its improved built-in concept.

The Hymer lithium Smart Battery system guarantees a long-lasting power supply, while the 90-litre compressor refrigerator and diesel heater allow campers to be largely independently of gas on their travels.

When it comes to comfort and design, however, the Grand Canyon S is also truly impressive: inspired by the exclusive Hymer Venture S off-roader, premium panels on the windows and doors, a new four-level lighting concept with individually adjustable light temperature as well as two new interior design style collections ensure that the camper van feels comfortable and homely inside.
