Berghaus campaign promotes free repairs

British outdoor clothing manufacturer, Berghaus has launched a campaign to highlight its free in-house repair service.

Berghaus free repairs have always been available but through the Repairhaus campaign, the manufacturer hopes that more of its customers will use the service to prevent items ending in landfill.

Led by a dedicated team at the company’s Sunderland-based headquarters, the Repairhaus service pledges to try and repair any item of damaged Berghaus clothing, footwear, pack or accessory product, no matter its age or condition.

The repair will be carried out for free, with customers only asked to cover the cost of postage.

If Berghaus is unable to repair the item, it will be upcycled, with the customer’s permission, and a like-for-like replacement will be offered on items still covered by guarantee – if not, a 30 per cent discount will be offered on a new item.

Berghaus brand director, Charlie Pym, said: “Berghaus products are built to last, but of course one of the risks of outdoor adventure is to your kit.

“As well as general wear and tear over many years, products can get damaged in a variety of ways.

“We’ve always offered the repair service and our in-house team has a treasure trove of stories about how they’ve helped keep much loved Berghaus kit out there in action, whether a zip finally broke after 30 years of sustained use or a pocket has needed a patch-up after a decade of heavy outings.”
