Volkswagen T25 destroyed in ‘accidental’ fire

Volkswagen T25 fire

A Volkswagen T25 has been destroyed in a fire at Torquay.

Fire Control reports on the incident at Little Haldon near Teignmouth Golf Club yesterday, Sunday, said: “The campervan was 100 per cent damaged by fire and a nearby parked car was five per cent damaged by heat.

“Crews extinguished using breathing apparatus, compressed air foam and small tools.

“The cause of the fire was accidental.”

Releasing the picture on their Facebook page Teignmouth Firefighters said: "This afternoon crews were called to a car fire on Little Haldon.

"On arrival crews were presented with a fully developed camper van on fire and requested an additional appliance for more crew and water due to its rural location.

"Police were also requested due to the road partly blocked by our appliances and heavy fog which saw too many motorists driving at speed and without lights passing by.

"Please slow down when you see us on or near road ways for our safety and others."
