Volkswagen Grand California recall issued over rooflight problem

A Volkswagen Grand California recall has been issued.

The recall notification (R/2022/178) describes “possible faulty bonding” with a risk that the “roof window cover may completely come loose”.

Some 115 Grand Californias are affected by the recall, the carmaker says.

Owners of the Volkswagen Grand California are advised to get in touch with their nearest Volkswagen Van Centre.

Dealers will check the bonding and modify or replace the roof window as necessary.

The Volkswagen Grand California rooflight problem isn’t the first recall for the Crafter-based campervan.

DVSA data shows five vehicles built in May 2019 needed extra protection fitted to the skylight over the drop-down bed to stop children from being able to climb out of it.
