A new version of The Caravan Towing Guide, offering expert advice on how to tow a touring caravan in the UK, has just been published by the National Caravan Council (NCC).
The guide, produced to help both experienced and novice caravanners tow their caravans safely and legally, offers simple, easily understood advice.
Topics covered include the safe matching of caravans to cars, the calculation of the ratio of caravan weight to car weight for safe towing, what you need to take into account before towing a caravan, driving techniques and the legal aspects to towing a caravan.
There is also information on hitching up, payloads and how to calculate the actual laden weight.
The Camping and Caravanning Club, the Caravan and Motorhome Club, Caravan Safety and Security Group each contributed to the guide.
