Campervan firebomb police probe continues in Dundee

Tayside Police are investigating a firebomb attack on a campervan outside a military veterans’ home in Dundee.

A woman has been arrested in connection with separate vandalism attacks on three other vehicles in the same area the van was torched at the weekend.

The 46-year-old was charged in relation to the incidents that happened around 12.30am on Monday.

Inspector Lucy Cameron, of Dundee Longhaugh Police Station said: “A 46-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with vandalism to three vehicles which occurred on Beach Lane and Dundee Road in Broughty Ferry around 12.30am on Monday, 20 June, 2022.

“She will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Officers are also following a positive line of enquiry following a series of incidents which occurred on Strathearn Road, Victoria Road, Grove Road and Balmyle Road in Broughty Ferry overnight between Saturday, 18 June, and Sunday, 19 June.

“The incidents included the wilful fire raising of a campervan, vandalism to seven vehicles and vandalism to two properties.”

The van was set alight in the early hours of Sunday morning.
